There are basically two types of editor's, those that let you plug the information into their interface, and those that make you chose the code that will give you the effect that you desire. In order for you to learn the code, and what each tag does, we will disciuss the second option. Don't worry, for those of you less motivated to learn the code, you will be pointed in the right direction to find a program that will let you get by.
The eidtor that has been chosen for you to work with during the course of these lessons, is called "Arachnophilia" it is a program that is based on the careware model of software distribution. (Meaning that you don't have to pay for the program or the right to use it.) You can download Arachnophilia from any number of sights, however it is reccomended that you go to http://www.download.com.
When looking for an editor you should choose one that is comfortable to you, and that is has an interface that you can easily understand. Arachnophilia has been chosen because it gives you easy access to buttons that allow you to specify what you want to do. In other words, it helps you to understand the code behind the HTML language. For an example of what the Arachnophilia interface looks like see figure 1-1
