Before you can learn how to transfer your files to the server, you need to have an understanding of directory structure. The first time that you connect to your server, you will need to make sure that there is a WWW directory. If not you will need to create it. Your FTP program should have a button that will allow you to do that, if not contact your server adiministrator to get information about what you need to do.
All of your files will need to be located in this directory. So when you are ready to transfer, make certain that you are in this directory. After that, it is simply a matter of clicking on the name(s) of the files that you need to transfer, and the clicking on the arrow that points to your server on the other side. Some FTP programs also have a submit/send button. It is considered good form to place all of your graphic files in one directory, and then pointing everything to that directory for what they need. If you have not followed previous instruction, then you will need to go back and edit every page to point them in the right direction or your graphics will not load. eg. <IMG SRC="images/nameoffile.gif">.
When you are done transfering your pages to your server, you should be able to open up your browser, click on file and then open, and type in the URL of your site. If you do not know what the URL is then you will need to contact your server administrator and get the address of your site.
